Detroit Trip - Matt Shepherd
The above photo was my first attempt at tilt-shift photography
Used the "cartoon" and "bump map" features of GIMP to give it a sharp, outlined look
This effect was achieved through shooting with the edge of the glass case in the center of the photo, and then I inverted the colors of the left side of the image
A creepy baby attached to one of the houses in the Heidelberg Project
Used the "old photo" feature in GIMP

Photoediting Resources
Okay guys, here are some of the resources that I mentioned today. Scroll over the first word of each tool for the hyperlink.
Rollip - This is a free online program that applies a filter of your choosing to photos for various effect. It's great because it's painless and has several variations on each theme to get the perfect effect for your photo.
Microsoft ICE - This free downloadable program will stitch multiple photos together into one large panorama. It has features that allow you to touch up the resulting image to remove imperfections, crop, and straighten out the image.
Adjustable Black and White Conversion Tutorial - Step by step tutorial on creating a dynamic black-and-white conversion in Photoshop. GIMP has all of these features and should be able to roughly follow this procedure.
'
Tilt-Shift Maker - This free online tool will allow you to do "miniature faking," a technique by which high saturation, high vantage-point, and narrow depth of field make your subjects look like miniature models. If you are unfamiliar with this field of photography, the site also includes an explanation and tutorial.
I hope that you discover something neat with them,
-Steve Chesney
